"I'm on my second listen and so far my favorite cut is "Behind the Thorns". Quite the adjustment from the full frontal assault of "What it Takes".
I think if I were a reviewer it would be like a wine review. You know the trick they use "hints of pear and black currant, subtle aroma with follow through of ancho and chocolate" and you go what the f*ck is he smelling and tasting so you go buy the bottle and can't taste any of it but you say Damn that was good. So yours might be read like this "an interesting blend with a touch of Green day with Blink 182's energy; a taste Chris Isaak angst, 60's TV themes and 40's jazz with and hints of Soul to Sleep mixed in" and now you think what is Marv hearing and the bottom line is Marv doesn't know either but it rocks in its own way and its not "Cold Play" (and that's a f*cking Good thing-superfluous bastards)..."
